Canon launched EOS-1D X MARK II camera priced for $6299.

<img src="Canon_EOS_1DX_Mark%2BII.jpg" alt="Canon EOS 1DX Mark II" />

 Finally Today Canon has launched the EOS-1D X MARK II, long-awaited successor to the EOS-1D X and company's new flagship professional EOS DSLR model, priced at $5999 for only the body and bundled with a 64GB CFast card and reader for $6299. Canon 1D X Mark II will come packed with a newly developed 22-megapixel sensor which is expected and adds 4mp over the current EOS-1D X. The flagship DSLR camera also to have 4k video recording capabilities. It will be available in india by the month of April.

EOS-1D X MARK II brings together the latest developments in imaging technology and innovations in the EOS line to present a next-generation pro DSLR model, empowering users to push their boundaries in capturing the best shots.  Beyond the hardware, the DSLR is equipped with Al servo AF III+, a new AF algorithm with AI servo scenes analysis that improves AF precision in scenarios involving fast and unexpected movements.

<img src="Canon_EOS_1DX_Mark%2BII_1.jpg" alt="Canon EOS 1DX Mark II" />

Camera features a new 20.2MP full-frame CMOS sensorwith Dual Pixel AF and is powered by Canon's Dual DIGIC 6 image processor, and uses a pair of Dual DIGIC 6+ processors to capture 4K video and shoot continuously at up to 16 fps. The camera has a native ISO of 100-51200, expandable to 409600. The new 61-point autofocus system has 41 cross-type sensors and 24% larger frame coverage than its predecessor. Its center point is sensitive to -3EV in OneShot AF. In live view the camera uses the latest iteration of Canon's Dual Pixel AF technology for high-speed focusing in OneShot mode. The metering system has also been updated to use a 360k-pixel RGB+IR sensor, which the company says improves subject - including face - detection and tracking.

You can also opt for a 120fps video mode for slow-motion video. The camera body is made of a magnesium alloy with sealed flaps, making it dust and water resistant and has a shutter that will last for approximately 400,000 cycles. You get built-in GPS with the option for adding a Wi-Fi transmitter and an e-compass which sits in a 'hump' on the top of the viewfinder. Otherwise, the design of the Mark II is very similar to that of its predecessor. There's also a USB 3.0 port for faster transfer of images and video. Its low-intensity limit function at the centre AF is also improved to EV-3, thus ensuring a solid performance even in low-light and low contrast conditions.

"The EOS-1D X Mark II is Canon's answer to the top rung professional photographers' unrelenting pursuit of excellence in imagery. The EOS-1D X Mark II is squarely aimed at top professionals who demand the best of speed, accuracy and results, and essentially cannot afford to miss a moment. With 14.0 fps & 4K video recording at up to 60fps, sports, fast action, wildlife photographers, as well as videographers, will find the EOS-1D X Mark II to be a revolutionary step up" said Andrew Koh, Vice President, Consumer Imaging & Information Centre, Canon.

<img src="Canon_EOS_1DX_MarkII_2.jpg" alt="Canon EOS 1DX Mark II" />

In addition to its large optical viewfinder (now with better, adjustable AF point illumination), the Mark II has a 3.2" Clear View II LCD with 1.62 million dots, up from 1.04 million dots. The screen is touch-enabled, but only for autofocus point selection in Live View. The 1D X II can shoot continuously at 14 fps with autofocus, and if you lock the mirror up, you can shoot up to 16 fps with locked focus and exposure. If you're using the older LP-E4N battery, the top shooting speeds drop to the same frame rates as the 1D X (12/14 fps). If you're using a CFast card you can take an unlimited number of JPEGs or a whopping 170 Raw images in a single burst, or 12 seconds of shooting at 14 fps. The 1D X II also has a slot for standard CompactFlash cards. When it comes to connecting to a PC you can choose from the camera's USB 3.0 or Ethernet ports. Wi-Fi requires the use of Canon's $600 WFT-E8 wireless file transmitter.

You'll need to use a CFast card in order to record more than a few seconds of 4K video though. Dual Pixel AF enables continuous autofocus in video, and touch focus makes the experience a breeze. The camera does not offer focus peaking or zebra patterns natively, but they are visible when using an external recorder. As one would expect given its place in Canon's lineup, the 1D X Mark II has both headphone and mic jacks.

Priv BlackBerry's first Android smartphone's impressions

Finally Blackberry has launched its first Android running smartphone Priv on Thursday in India at the price tag of Rs 62,990. For many years Blackberry is struggled to compete with Apple's iPhone and Google's Android with its Blackberry 10 phone software. The BlackBerry Priv is the ultimate manifestation of “something new.”

Design and Display

BlackBerry Priv features a 5.4-inch AMOLED display with 1,440x2,560 pixels resolution with 540 PPI. BlackBerry Priv comes with an impressive sliding keyboard. The display offers vibrant colours and also consumes less power. The front of the device is simple, with the curved display and below the display there is a front speaker for better audio experience. It is nicely curved from the edges, the Gorilla Glass 4 meeting an aluminium surround with a gentle slope.

The device has the micro-USB port and the headphone jack at the bottom and the top of the BlackBerry Priv has the micro-SD and SIM card slots. The power button is located on the left side and the volume rocker keys are placed on the right with an in-between button. Slide a toolbar from the side to access your calendar, messages and contacts.

Specifications and Software

The smartphone is loaded the Priv with 1.8 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and It comes with an inbuilt storage of 32GB, which can be expanded further up to 200GB. The specs that it offers under the hood are about six months late. The device functioned properly without any interruptions/Lacks. However, we feel some heating issues after moderate usage.

The BlackBerry Priv runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system and Blackberry is promising a Marshmallow version for the new year. BlackBerry has also integrated its security features in the device to keep users data safe and secure. Android for Work support allows for fast, simple and secure integration with the enterprise environment. The phone also offers seamless integration with Google Play for Work and enables easy access to IT-managed apps.

The email app is also more sophisticated than most; it supports rich-text formatting, such as italics and colors, when composing messages. BlackBerry has also incorporated its Smart Hub feature seen in Z10 and Q10. The user can customise it completely according to their needs and requirements. BlackBerry says you cannot install apps from third-party/ unknown sources.

Camera and Performance

BlackBerry Priv comes equipped with an 18MP rear camera dual LED flash with OIS, PDAF, fast focus lock, dual-LED flash, 1080p video recording at 60 FPS, and 4K video recording at 30 FPS and a 2MP front camera for clicking selfies. The camera is able to produce sharp and vibrant images. However, the images lacked details and distorted when we tried zooming in. The camera app is simple and clean and also offers live colour filters. We were a bit disappointed with the front camera of the smartphone. It is not that great for a flagship device of this price segment.

Along with this, the smartphone users can also keep a check of the app permissions. The smartphone also comes pre-loaded with the DTEK app of the company, which monitors and reports on application access to the microphone, camera, location and personal information, enabling users to be confident that their personal data is being kept private. The Priv sports a huge 3410mAh battery that goes some way towards explaining its hefty 192g weight. BlackBerry promises 22.5 hours of mixed use.

Verdict

The overall build quality of the Priv is fantastic and that’s what BlackBerry’s were known for. BlackBerry has returned to India but is it too late? Only time and consumers can now decide the fate of BlackBerry’s last stand with the Priv in India.

Specifications

  • 5.43-inch Curved Quad HD Plastic AMOLED Display (2560 x 1440, 540ppi) with Gorilla Glass 4
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 64-bit Processor with X10 LTE
  • Adreno 418 600 MHz GPU

Google releases Chrome 48 update for android users.

<img src="Google_Chrome_v48.jpg" alt="Google Chrome v48" />

Now Google has updated their browser Chrome for Android to version 48. The updated Chrome v48 brings better support for coloured status bar along with enhanced website notification and gives you a fast and secure way to explore the web. This saves up to 100 Terabytes of data a day — enough data to store the complete works of Shakespeare, 10 million times!

 It allows websites to add custom buttons for notifications, letting users complete a task from within the notifications bar itself. The latest version of Chrome brings some fresh updates for the new year to get you moving faster and stay secure.

Google has not released a change log yet for the Android update, but from the beta releases, Chrome 48 for Android also allows developers detect a device's maximum bandwidth using Network Information downlink Max, or respond to connection speed changes using Network Information on Change event handler. This should result in better detection of connection speed on the device that will help in sending optimum page resources for that connection.

Chrome 48 for Android brings the regular "bug fixes and speedy performance improvements". The updated app is available to download from Google Play. The Chrome update for desktop last week saw releases for Linux, Windows, and OS X. The updated version brings several fixes and improvements.

"The crash rate was reduced by 70 percent and JavaScript execution is now dramatically faster!". The update also features redesigned icons on the new tab page for easy access to frequently visited websites, and Spotlight search integration. Users can simply drag down or right from the Home screen and search for Chrome bookmarks.
